Dr. Zhanjun Gu was born in Beijing, China. He earned his BE degree (2002) in Chemical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He received his PhD degree (2007) in chemistry from institute of chemistry, Chinese academy of science, under the direction of Prof. Jiannian Yao. He then became a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Zhengwei Pan at university of Georgia. In 2009, he joined the faculty of the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Science. His research interests include nanomaterials synthesis, optical spectroscopy and bio-applications of luminescent nanomaterials.
Assistant Prof. Wenyan Yin
Dr. Wenyan Yin was awarded her Ph. D. from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2009. She was a visiting scholar in the University of Delaware, USA in 2008. Dr. Wenyan Yin is currently an Assistant Researcher in the Key Laboratory for Biomedical Effects of Nanomaterials and Nanosafety at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her Research work mainly include: 1. Design, Synthesis and Surface Modification of Rare-earth Doped Luminescent Nanomaterials; 2. Low-toxicity Treatment of tumors, live cell and their applications for biomedical research; She has published more than 20 papers in refereed international journals, including J. Mater. Chem., Chem.Eur. J., and so on. She is also a project leader of National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 21101158).
Graduate student
Liang Yan
Liang Yan is currently a graduate student of CAS Key Lab for Biomedical Effects of Nano-materials & Nano-safety, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Sichuan University in 2009. His current scientific interests are focused on studying the chemical functionalization of graphene and upconversion nanoparticles, fabricating multifunctional graphene and graphene oxide-based composite materials, as well as their biomedical effects.
Wenlu Ren
Studied in Beijing Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2010 for Bachelor; Studied from 2010 to now in the Institute of High Energy Physics for Master. Interested Research: Synthesis of upconversion luminescent nanomaterials and their applications in biological field.
Exchange student
Liangjun Zhou
Education:From 2004 to 2008 studied in the Huazhong University of Science and Technology for bachelor; from 2009 to now studied in the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences for PhD. Research interest:1. synthesis and characterization of upconversion nanoparticles. 2. multi-functional upconversion nanoparticles for bio-applications (FRET, optical imaging, etc.).
Gan Tian
Gan Tian graduated with a B.Sc. from the Sichuan University in 2009. He is currently a Graduate Partnerships Program student between the College of Chemistry at Sichuan University and Prof. Yuliang Zhao’s team, Key Laboratory for Biomedical Effects of Nanomaterials and Nanosafety (IHEP. CAS), under the co-supervision of Prof. Shoujian Li and Prof. Yuliang Zhao/Dr. Zhanjun Gu. His research involves (I) developing new solid phase extractant for removal and recovery of uranium present in nuclear fuel, (II) fabrication and application of luminescent nanomaterials. Published three papers in refereed international journals and applied one patent.
Shan Jin
Graduated from He Nan University in 2007 and got engineering Bachelor degree; in 2010, graduated from Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and obtained master degree; at present, as a candidate for doctor degree and major in Materialogy. Interests focus on upconversion materials synthesis and characterization.
